Do you feel a deep need to share the gospel? Are you fervently praying for the lost? I remember a time in my walk with Christ where I was so focused on my own life that other than praying for family and friends, I didn’t spend a lot of time interceding for others. It used to concern me at times. Why didn’t I feel more concern for all the lost? I began to ask God about it and prayed for Him to give me a love for the lost. All the lost. Not just the ones I loved or held dear. He answered that prayer. I began to see people differently. I also began to realize that God’s desire is to see everyone brought into His family through Christ. I’m not sure why it took me so long to fully realize that but I’m thankful He answered my prayer.
With all that is going on in the world today we don’t need to look far to see people that desperately need a Savior! People are worried, stressed, pressured by finance issues, lonely, feeling isolated and overall sensing things are not likely to get a whole lot better in this world. This is our time, as the body of Christ, to share the good news. We know it is the only solution to what ails the lost. They need to know there is hope for the future in Christ on this planet and beyond! They need to know about our blessed hope of Christ’s appearance to take us home to be with Him!
If you find yourself callous to the lost, ask God to give you a tender heart and burden of prayer for them. So many of us coming to Christ is the result of someone sharing the gospel and praying for us. We have an obligation to do the same for those who still haven’t found their way to Him. We are all called to share the good news and if we have a heart to do so, God will begin to show us how and where He wants us to do it. The words of apostle Paul make it clear.
2 Corinthians 5:18-21 And all of this is a gift from God, who brought us back to Himself through Christ. And God has given us this task of reconciling people to Him. For God was in Christ, reconciling the world to Himself, no longer counting people’s sins against them. And He gave us this wonderful message of reconciliation. So we are Christ’s ambassadors; God is making His appeal through us. We speak for Christ when we plead, “Come back to God!” For God made Christ, who never sinned, to be the offering for our sin, so that we could be made right with God through Christ.
We were brought back to Him and therefore we now have the task of sharing the gospel freely to others. Knowing His heart is that all may be saved, let’s all do our part.
Oh Lord thank you for our salvation. Thank you for giving Your life in order that we may be brought into Your family! Please give us all a heart for the lost. Let us not turn a blind eye, but instead seek Your face for the salvation of those that are on their way to Hell. Give us a tender heart and the boldness we need to share wherever and to whoever You direct us Lord. We ask it in the mighty and powerful name of Jesus Christ. Amen
Blessings!
