Words of Assurance

Our world has become quite hostile to the things of God. The very words Jesus spoke can cause rage in many today. To those of us who love Him, His words are words of life and encouragement. To a world that despises Him and His followers, they are words of offence.

Though this seems to be increasing everywhere and in every level of government or society, we the followers of Christ do not need to feel alone or abandoned. We have NOT been. God did not leave us as orphans without help or direction. Jesus, Himself, told us in

John 14:25-27 I am telling you these things now while I am still with you.  But when the Father sends the Advocate as my representative—that is, the Holy Spirit—he will teach you everything and will remind you of everything I have told you.

“I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid.

What tremendous words of comfort and encouragement. We are not alone. Whatever comes our way, the Holy Spirit will teach us everything we need to know and remind us of everything Jesus told us through His Word and through His disciples. Also Jesus Himself told us, and He does NOT lie, that He has left us, His followers, with a gift of peace of mind and heart. A peace that the world will never be able to offer us. He also told us to not be troubled or afraid! If there were ever words needed today it is these very words!

We can count on the Holy Spirit teaching and reminding us daily of what we need to know as we read the Word of God and remain in prayer. He will speak to us and through us if we allow Him to. We can trust that whatever is coming, we can still have peace. What a treasure that is!

So today, lean into the Word of God (Bible). Pray and ask God for direction and guidance through the Holy Spirit. He will not disappoint us. He will keep us on the right path. Fight the good fight. Stand up to injustices and share the gospel to everyone and anyone the Lord puts in your path. Time is short and we need to use our time wisely going about our Father’s business.

Be blessed!
