As followers of Jesus Christ, we are so privileged. We serve a living God that is available 24/7. He never shuts us out because He’s too busy, in fact, He longs for us to spend time with Him and rewards us when we do.  But you, when you pray, go into your room, and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father who is in the secret place; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly. (Matthew 6:6)  

In the busyness of your day today, take time to do just that. Get alone with Him. Acknowledge who He is. Thank Him for all He has done and continues to do in your life and in the lives of others. Ask Him to give you direction for the day.

This is the one way we can ensure we haven’t wasted the day.

Come now, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go to such and such a city, spend a year there, buy and sell, and make a profit”;  whereas you do not know what will happen tomorrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away. (James 4:13,14)
